I like use nature photos, because it makes my eye more relax. And I usually dont put any files or shortcuts on desktop too.

Hmm, good question. I don't really know how to teach others yet

. But I've been practicing drawing human figure in early days tho

. So I would suggest you start learning how to draw a realistic human figures. And also watch a lot good concept artist work. Another website I'd recommend to get inspired are CGTalk forum and Conceptart.org. Learn to draw first, then you'll make your own style someday.
